520 _aThe sub-discipline of moral philosophy continues to expand in its concern for both theoretical questions and moral dilemmas involving applied ethics. This volume engages both sets of topics. Contributors have various areas of specialization and competence that influence the themes engaged in this anthology-the problem of evil, the naturalistic fallacy, explanation of moral facts, biocentric consequentialism, duties to future generations, conceptual clarification of the notion of right, etc. The first section of the anthology will be of interest to readers interested in moral philosophy proper. The second section will be of interest to those concerned with moral dilemmas involved application of normative ethical theory to their prospective solution. The latter include issues in comparative ethical traditions, biomedical ethics, environmental ethics, feminist ethics, and international economic justice. Moral philosophy, of course, relates to the history of philosophy, both Western and non-Western, in which case it is important to consider the relation between history and philosophy, hence the postscript discussion at the conclusion of the two sections.
